Meriposa Grove, Yosemite - June 2015 This is the largest grove of Sequoias in the world. Located in south Yosemite, elevation 6,800 feet to the upper grove.  It’s a good hike to the top.  These are litearlly Giants.  It is hard to grasp the scale.  When you first see them it is quite emotional.  Sequoias share their root systems like a family.  These trees are Very old, the big one is estimated at over 2,000 years old.  It has perpendicular limbs that are trees in themselves!  That cone is a Sugar Pine.  The Sequoia cones are actuially very small!  The seeds are only 3-4mm in size, and yet look what they can do given Earth, Sun, and Time.
